Orhan Cam via Shutterstock House and Senate Republican leaders are looking to quickly reach consensus on an overhaul of tax policy this week in hopes of sending a final bill to President Donald Trump before year’s end.

Both chambers have approved separate tax measures and must now negotiate a final bill that would be brought before the House and Senate — without amendment — for a final up-or-down vote.

Losing Candidate Takes East Haven Mayor To Court, Asks for Recount

Connecticut Voters Produce Some Surprises As Election 2017 Comes to a Close

Special to CTNewsJunkie / Brian Koonz for the Valley Independent Sentinel Change was in the air for many districts in Connecticut Tuesday and both major parties were celebrating some local victories as results started coming in. But as the evening wore on, it became clear that Democrats were picking up seats and gaining control of councils and school boards in a lot of Republican towns, mirroring similar gains being reported in other states.
