That’s how much Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton’s gubernatorial campaign is paying people to help get Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti on the ballot as his running mate.

The Boughton campaign sent out an email soliciting registered Republicans to gather names. The campaign needs more than 8,190 signatures of registered Republicans by June 10 to get Lauretti on the ballot.

Boughton received enough delegate support to primary at the convention.

Interesting to observe how Democrats & Republicans differ on the election front.  Democrats hire limo companies to transport the homeless & shelter residents to the polls. They also supply free liquor & voter registration forms on the ride over.  Republicans on the other hand pay $2.00 for signatures.

...that John Cusak movie where the kid is chasing him thru out yelling “$2!!!”

I have the image of the kid, but now he has Boughton’s head and a roll of blank petitions.

GBear - That movie is Better Off Dead.  I think the same thing when I hear someone reference $2.

No details are provided for how/where Republicans can vote.

It’s $2/petition to circulate petitions, not $2 to sign the petition.  This article is poorly written and fails to adequately relay that message.
