Hartford’s Pratt Street was decked out Saturday evening for Hartford Has Style: an evening of fashion, art, and dancing. The event, organized by small businesses on Pratt Street, highlighted not only fashion but community role models as well.

Pratt Street was transformed into a 100-foot red carpet runway, featuring a fashion show and live auction, hosted by Logan Byrnes, Jennifer Wilder-Jackson, and John Motley. Clothing and shoes were presented by NIRO and That Flavour Boutique. Models for the event were Byrnes, Yvonne Davis, Jennifer DiBella, Oz Griebel, Jerry Long, Hector Rivera, Donna Sodipo, Tara Spain, Sharon Dichand, and Michael Williams. Designers included That Flavour Boutique, Carmen Veal Swimwear, NIRO Boutique’s Penniless Snob, Zubair, Hartford Denim Company, and NIRO Couture.

Absolutely great concept but unfortunately an ineffective execution, which is typical of Hartford. Why didn’t more people know about this event? Why not include or at least request local corporations like Travelers, Aetna, Hartford Healthcare, St Francis, etc.. To participate or disseminate this information to their thousands of employees. Let’s compliment these great visions with equal enthusiasm.

Lovely and some stunning.

I was in India once where they held Fashion Week Asia at the same hotel I was at. My first time sitting at a runway and I have to say it was very very cool. The after parties every night on the rooftop pool area were also a first for me and a blast.

You should get out more HST. There is whole world outside Indiana.
