Screengrab from CT-N The Thursday morning commute may take a little longer than usual, according to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.

“We expect icing to be a problem throughout tomorrow morning’s commute,” Malloy said at a 5 p.m. briefing in the Emergency Operations Center.

The state’s 632 plow trucks will be out on the road throughout the night, but black ice is still possible with the freezing temperatures.

State police responded to more than 1,200 calls for assistance Wednesday and there were 69 “somewhat serious accidents” that injured about a dozen people, Malloy said.

AAA’s Roadside Rescue Team received 572 calls for emergency road service in Greater Hartford and eastern Connecticut since midnight Wednesday.

Bus and train service are expected to be running on normal weekday schedules.

Lawmakers from all over the state will head to the state Capitol Thursday for Malloy’s State of the State address at noon.
