Veto Session Today
The House and the Senate will gavel in today at 10 a.m. for a veto session, but they are not expected to override any of Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s eight vetoes.
Asked last week if the General Assembly would attempt any overrides, House Speaker Brendan Sharkey said flatly “no.”
The same holds true for leaders in the upper chamber.
“We do not intend to override the governor on any of his vetoes this year,” Adam Joseph, a spokesman for Senate President Donald Williams, said last week.
The veto session will begin at 10 a.m.

Since 2011, the Democrat-controlled General Assembly has yet to override any of Malloy’s vetoes, even though several of the bills were passed unanimously.
