Industry Rebounds, Luxury Tax Still Annoys (w/video)

As the economy rebounds, auto dealers are hoping the General Assembly will rethink a tax that went into effect in July, which increases the sales tax on cars priced at $50,000 or more.

Auto Industry Rebounding in CT; Auto Show Starts Friday At Convention Center

State automotive leaders are celebrating a re-energized industry this weekend at the Connecticut International Auto Show, set for Friday through Sunday at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy plans to open the show Friday, joined by Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Melody Curry and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Daniel Esty. The show features some of the newest models of hybrid, luxury, family, and specialty cars.

Calling All Distressed Homeowners

The state wants to help the tens of thousands of homeowners on the verge of foreclosure or in the foreclosure process next week when it hosts a homeowners’ assistance event at the Connecticut Convention Center.
