OP-ED | Get Your Money’s Worth on Hartford’s Front Street

Heath W. Fahle Hartford’s troubled Front Street project got good news this week when Gov. Dannel Malloy announced $1.3 million in state funding to bring Infinity Hall, a live music venue, to the site. After more than a decade of problems this is welcome on Front Street. For the state’s taxpayers though, it is just the latest chapter in a saga of crony capitalism.

DUI Checkpoint Conspiracy?

At around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon the Hartford Police Department moved its DUI checkpoint away from downtown where 1,300 Democrats were gathered for their annual fundraiser to Park Street.

Auto Industry Rebounding in CT; Auto Show Starts Friday At Convention Center

CT Auto Retailers Association State automotive leaders are celebrating a re-energized industry this weekend at the Connecticut International Auto Show, set for Friday through Sunday at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy plans to open the show Friday, joined by Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Melody Curry and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Daniel Esty. The show features some of the newest models of hybrid, luxury, family, and specialty cars.
