Bysiewicz Certifies ‘Historically Close’ Election

Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz certified the results of the 2010 midterm elections Wednesday morning including the results of the Governor’s race, which went to Democrat Dan Malloy by a plurality of 6,404 votes, making it the closest election for the position since 1954.

Survey Finds Americans Are Longing For Civil Discourse

The November midterm elections left many Americans seeing red over the declining amount of civil discourse in political campaigns, according to a survey conducted by the Center for Political Participation (CPP) at Allegheny College, in conjunction with Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.

Malloy Unveils Transition Team

Bridgeport Refuses Vote Audit

(Updated) On Monday Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz said the Bridgeport Registrar of Voters agreed to a voluntary audit of a dozen voting districts, but Tuesday evening Bridgeport’s attorney’s said that’s absolutely not going to happen.

86 Voting Precincts to Be Audited

In addition to the dozen Bridgeport voting precincts, which were allowed to stay open until 10 p.m. based on a judge’s order, 74 voting precincts throughout the state will be audited before Nov. 22.
Amann Seeks To Raise Enough Money To End Campaign Debt

When he exited the governor’s race almost a year ago he had spent close to $61,000, but he also had about $29,000 in outstanding debts. In an effort to make good on those debts, former House Speaker James Amann threw himself a retirement party Friday.
