Mobile App Helps Voters Find Their Polling Place

On a typical election day the Secretary of the State’s office receives between 3,000 and 5,000 phone calls from voters looking for their polling place. This year Secretary of the State Denise Merrill is hoping a new online and mobile gadget will help cut down on the calls.

Labriola Named New GOP Chairman

A late entry to the race for Republican Party Chairman, Jerry Labriola Jr., 53, walked away with the chairmanship after only one ballot. He beat out three other contenders for the spot vacated by Chris Healy, who decided not to seek re-election.

Republicans Recruit A.C.R. To Run As Party Chair

Doug Hageman is a familiar face to many Republicans in the state, having served on the party’s state central committee for close to a decade. But he’s never run for office — unless you count the time he ran for the Southington Planning and Zoning Commission and lost, only to be appointed to a vacancy a few days later. Now he’s being recruited to head the Republican Party in Connecticut.
