Former U.S. Congressman Patrick Kennedy had his own story to tell Saturday about how suffering from bipolar disorder and a prescription drug addiction led him to crash his vehicle into a barrier at the U.S. Capitol in 2006. But it was the stories of Connecticut residents Cathy Morelli and Greg Williams that Kennedy believes will help achieve the goals set forth in the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equality Act of 2008.

Wednesday was Women’s Day at the state Capitol. It was time for women to discuss public policy and celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women. But that’s not exactly the message Fox 61 Connecticut conveyed during its morning broadcast, which had women’s groups calling for the removal of the story and an apology.
