Report: Investments May Help Turn CT Economy Around

Connecticut’s post-recession economic recovery generally lags behind that of the national economy, but a new report from the Connecticut Center for Economic Analysis concluded that with the large capital investments the state is making there‘s a chance it will continue to outperform the national economy.

Malloy Proposes Sweeping Changes To CT’s Liquor Laws

Malloy unveiled a liquor law reform package that will allow for Sunday sales and a whole host of changes to how wine, beer, and liquor are distributed and regulated in the state. The governor said the proposed changes will allow Connecticut to compete with surrounding states in the liquor market.

Two Panels Will Review CT’s Business Tax Exemptions

Malloy signed an executive order to create a nine member Business Tax Policy Review Task Force Thursday hours after a national expert on tax policy gave a speech on that very issue at the state Capitol and weeks after state Comptroller Kevin Lembo urged the legislature to reconvene a similar task force.
