On The Horn | Sen. Witkos Says Police Will Adapt To New Pot Laws

by On The Horn | July 8, 2011 9:03am

State Sen. Kevin Witkos, R-Canton, was the special guest Thursday on NewsTalkTonight with CTNewsJunkie’s Christine Stuart and host Brian Parker at the OnTheHorn.com studios in Glastonbury. The discussion covered Connecticut’s new marijuana laws and how police are dealing with them, the state budget, and other issues.

Witkos, who serves as a Canton police officer in his day job, said that although the law went into effect July 1, he is unaware of any marijuana citations having been written yet in Canton or elsewhere in the Farmington Valley. OnTheHorn | Paint My Bridge

by On The Horn | June 10, 2011 11:58am

The Economic Observer covers infrastructure with a comparison between the U.S. and China and says the U.S. is spending less than ever on maintaining its infrastructure. The advocacy group Transportation for America recently produced an online map of bridges and their various stages of repair or disrepair. Check out the condition of the bridges on your daily commute here.

If you’d like to report a local bridge in disrepair, try using SeeClickFix.com. Many municipalities are watching for reports on the site, but if it’s a state road it’s good to report problems directly to the state Department of Transportation here.
