Budget Continues To Bleed Red Ink, Year End Deficit Likely

It doesn’t include the latest tax collections, but the Office of Policy and Management estimated Friday that the state will end the year with a $141.9 million deficit, about $80 million worse than projected last month.

$18.3M In Longevity Payments Go To State Employees

House, Senate Unanimously Pass Gas Tax Cap

They may not agree on why gas prices have risen to where they are today, but the Senate and the House unanimously passed a bill Wednesday that attempts to cap the gasoline gross receipts tax as a percentage of no more than $3 per gallon.

Democrats Reverse Themselves & Seek Permanent Gas Tax Cap

(Updated 8:19 a.m. Wednesday) The Senate and House are expected to take up a bill Wednesday to cap the gasoline gross receipts tax and more than a week after saying they would sunset the cap, Democratic lawmakers reversed themselves and decided to make the cap permanent.

Budget Cuts On Horizon If Fiscal Picture Worsens
