OP-ED | Plenty of Forgettable Bills in New Session

The legislative session is off and running at last, and members are rushing to propose new laws. Thus far, the focus has been squarely on gun control and school safety in the wake of Newtown, but there’s plenty more going on beneath the surface. Sadly, some of the many, many bills being raised should stay out of sight.

Latinos Make Historic Gains In General Assembly

Daily Remembered For Her Bipartisanship, Brevity

Retiring Sen. Eileen Daily of Westbrook thought she would get away without being toasted, roasted, and memorialized by her colleagues if she announced her retirement after the regular legislative session. But Tuesday’s special session provided the perfect opportunity to pay tribute to her 20 year legislative career.
