Hartford’s St. Patrick’s Day parade may be cancelled but the anti-war protest organized by Connecticut Opposes the War is still on.

The protest that marks the fourth anniversary of the United States invasion of the war in Iraq is expected to bring thousands to the Old State House Saturday from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

The event will include entertainment from MIRA, a spoken word artist who performed to accolades last year will return, and Dawn Terese, a Bloomfield-based singer-songwriter who has performed all over the world.

How to get there?

Buses from several major cities and towns will help bring residents to Hartford Saturday. Here’s the info: From Bridgeport (Mt. Aery Church), Westport (203-979-4676), New Haven (203-624-8664), Danbury (203-602-6615 ext.11), Bristol (860-478-7864), UCONN (Storrs and West Hartford - 860-639-8101), New London (401-539-4675) and Old Lyme (860-767-0615).

For those who may be driving the Old State House is located at 800 Main St. The parking ban may still be in effect but there are several city garages near by. The Morgan Street garage is the closest. Click here for more info on parking.
