Former Lt. Gov. Announces Mayoral Bid

Former Republican Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele made his intention to run for mayor of Stamford official today when he filed the necessary paperwork with the town clerk.
“My life and career have been shaped by Stamford values,” Fedele said in a press release. “Stamford is not only my home — it has also been in so many ways, my life.”
Fedele, an Italian immigrant, is the founder and CEO of Pinnacle Group, an information technology firm. He took leave of absence from the company to join former Gov. M. Jodi Rell as lieutenant governor in 2007 and later launched an unsuccessful bid for the governor’s office in 2010.
He said he’s running for mayor to expand on the opportunities he received as a member of the Stamford community.
Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia, a Republican, has announced that he will not be seeking re-election.
The other Republican in the race at the moment is Jerry Pia, a member of the Board of Education.
On the Democratic side, state Rep. William Tong and William Callion, the former director of public, safety, health, and welfare, have officially entered the race.
