Budget Balancing Act Will Be Tricky in 2013 Comptroller Kevin Lembo certified a $143.6 million deficit for fiscal year 2012. It is still early in fiscal year 2013, but Lembo used his monthly letter to the governor to advise caution and make some suggestions for what the state will have to do to end the current fiscal year in the black. Jim Himes when asked on Twitter “are you speaking at all during #DNC2012”  ’Union Boss Boycotts Breakfast Communication Workers of America Local 1298 President Bill Henderson boycotted the Connecticut delegation’s breakfast on the first official day of the convention. The reason? The breakfast was sponsored by AT&T. While delegates fueled up for the day, Henderson handed out information and stickers. Several other union leaders also chose to pass on the food. Malloy On ‘Morning Joe’
Gov. Dannel Malloy appeared with UConn hats to hand out to Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe. Malloy used the time to talk about his upcoming speech, to stump for President Obama, to plug Chris Murphy’s campaign, and to take a few swipes at Republicans. Mika and Joe’s love for Malloy includes an ask for him to co-host one morning. View the clip hereMalloy’s Popular in Charlotte Gov. Malloy is in demand and seems to be enjoying his booked schedule while in Charlotte with stops at fellow delegates’ breakfasts and morning political shows.
