Low Voter Turnout

Voter turnout for the state’s primary elections was low Tuesday despite the large number of candidates on the ballot. As of 4 p.m. turnout was about 15 percent statewide, according to officials at the Secretary of the State’s Office.
Polls close at 8 p.m. and turnout is expected to increase as voters leave work.
Officials at the Secretary of the State’s office reported that Westbrook has had the highest voter turnout with 27.2 percent voting in the Republican primary and 24.7 percent voting in the Democratic primary.
Glastonbury saw about a 17.9 percent turnout and North Haven was around 15.9 percent. In Simsbury the hometown of Mary Glassman, who is seeking the lieutenant governor’s nomination, turnout was 15 percent as of 2 p.m. today.
Numbers for Hartford, New Haven and Bridgeport weren’t available.

If any of the analysis was right, this is a great thing for Dan! I usually hate to see such low participation, but tonight may be the exception.
