Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and his staff are still mum about a re-election bid, but a poll released Tuesday gives the unpopular governor a shot at re-election.
Malloy may be one of the most unpopular governors in the country but Public Policy Polling says his standing has improved slightly.
“We’ve tended to find him as one of the most unpopular Governors in the country so far but he saw a major improvement in our last poll to the point where he led a hypothetical Republican foe 48-37,” the poll says.
“It’s hard to say what might have produced such a sudden, substantial improvement — perhaps his leadership during the hurricane? If that is the case we’ll have to keep an eye on whether his improved numbers are permanent or just fleeting.”

I suppose if the republicans ran Linda McMahon that would be possible.

Republicans should underestimate Dannel P at their peril. He will run a formidable race in 2014, and he will likely win.

Many teachers will never vote for Malloy again…rank and file union workers do not support him. He has insulted the teachers, pissed off state workers and the state police, annoyed the liquor store owners, lied to the higher Ed community..really who is left to belittle. He many have the big CEO’s in the first five that were never going to leave CT and didn’t need the big tax breaks, but the rest of us are done. One and done Dannel….hope for an Obama appointment. Take Roy O with you please.
