A group of Newtown parents will announce the formation next week of a national group to “honor the lives lost” at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The organization calling themselves Sandy Hook Promise, formerly known as Newtown United, will share its plans for preventing future tragedies in Connecticut and across the nation.

The group will include families who lost children in the massacre, but the group hopes to keep the identity of those families private in advance of the event.

The press conference will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Edmond Town Hall in Newtown.
