Speaker of the House Chris Donovan swung by the Hartford Online Radio Network headquarters for an interview about his campaign for the Democratic nomination in the 5th congressional district. Donovan is one of eight candidates vying for the seat vacated by U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy who is running for the U.S. Senate.
Republicans Justin Bernier of Plainville, Lisa Wilson Foley of Simsbury, Mike Clark of Farmington, Sen. Andrew Roraback of Goshen, and Mark Greenberg of Litchfield are competing for the Republican nomination.
The two other Democratic candidates vying for the Democratic nomination include Elizabeth Esty of Cheshire and Dan Roberti of Kent.
On the Horn is hoping to schedule interviews with the other candidates soon.

Chris Donovan is the Sarah Palin of the Democratic Party.
The Democrats need to do themselves a favor and find themselves a better nominee for the 5th Congressional district who’s not going to embarrass the Party or lose the seat.

ProgressiveandPrudent: Sarah Palin is “a breath of fresh air”—- compaired to a politically stagnant Chris Donovan. We don’t need to add more failures to our Congress—as they are loaded with incompetents already!
