The President Is Coming

Christine Stuart file photo President Barack Obama is scheduled to return to the state of Connecticut Sept. 16 to headline a fundraiser for both U.S. Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal and the Democratic National Committee.

It’s been less than a year since Obama raised about one million dollars at a Stamford fundraiser for the then embattled U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd.

What a difference a year makes.

Dodd has since dropped out of the race and Obama’s approval rating, according to a July Quinnipiac University poll, has fallen to its lowest point ever in the state. Last November a month after Obama headlined the fundraiser for Dodd his approval rating was 58 percent in July of this year is dropped to 50 percent.

And despite positioning himself in opposition to some of Obama’s policies, Blumenthal said he welcomed the visit.

“I look forward to welcoming the President of the United States to Connecticut,” Blumenthal said in a statement Friday. “It is an honor to have his support and his assistance. His visit will make a difference for us, energizing our supporters and helping us raise the resources we need against my opponent who is spending an unprecedented $50 million on her campaign.”

Blumenthal is a big loser, when he gets the current master-mind of our nation’s problems, to campaign for him in Connecticut. Obama knows he is losing many of his Congressional henchmen on Nov. 2, and he is desperate to try to salvage an Obama YES VOTE in Congress, in Richard Blumenthal.

Good try, in a losing cause for a politically impotent Barack Hussein Obama, who is really helping Linda McMahon, by coming to Fairfield County, for the BIG BUCKS!

Hawkeye,
obviously you arent a expert on the economy because even the conservative economists know this is Chicken George Bush’s disaster.
Also Hawky you probably haven’t noticed either that outside of your local gun club and out law biker clubs, The president is pretty damn popular around these parts.
And your looking to the steroid Queen as your savoir is soooo funny!
I cant wait to get my kids out there and wave to OUR Commander in Chief as he comes to down to help marine veteran Richard Blumenthal in his fight against this unqualified nut job.
So keep drinking the Glenn Beck coolaid but remember when people vote it only counts as one vote so you cant use the Beck Math were 85,000 becomes 500,000 smile
Are you going to be asking the president for his birth certificate??? LOL
Was watching the history channel today and back in the 80’s loonatics like yourself thought that Ronald Wilson Reagan was the anti-christ because each of his names had 6 letters thus making him the devil.
Hold on for a second that may have been true….. smile

I wonder what happened to the $1m BO raised for cdodd? You would think the people of CT would wake up and see what the demorats are doing to them but with the PUBLIC SERVANTS UNIONS and the people who pay no taxes voting for them it’s hard to get rid of them

HAWKEYE

You are right re CT Jim and Blumenthal.

If I were not already against Blumenthal, his enthusiastic support by such as Obama and Jim would convince me to change.

Yea for the Wrestling Queen!

posted by: CT Jim | September 6, 2010  7:53am

Funny Hawky and Wally dont seem to have a problem throwing barbs at Obama.
But sure cant take it when they are thrown back.
Get used to it!!!
And Doyley Those PUBLIC SERVICE UNION members you spew about pay more taxes than YOU!
And that is just a FACT!
As for the people that don’t, Lets just give ya a couple more facts.
The top 2% pay 5% of their wages in state and local taxes, The middle class (largely made up of those union people) pay 12% of their wages in State and local taxes.
AND the working poor, those poor slugs working for Walmart actually pay MORE than anyone a WHOPPING 15% of their wages in state and local taxes!!!!
And what is the steroid QUEEN gonna do about it??? NOTHING!!!
She is way to busy worried that her own tax cut is going to expire!!!
The only other thing she worrys about is whether another 10 of her wrestlers are going to drop before election day!
GO BARACK, GO DICK!

posted by: aedoyle | September 6, 2010  9:29am

To CT JIM:I suggest nyou look at the income tax laws that show the income level where you pay no income tax and also look at the data of what % of the income tax is paid by the top 10% of the wage earners.
I notice you didn’t answer my question about cdodd’s $1m. Why is that?
Another fact is that if the PUBLIC SECTOR payroll and fringes didn’t require all that money everyones state income tax would be lower. Isn’t that correct? I think you need to do a little more research before you post.

CT Jim:

You are showing that you know, you are backing a LOSER, in Richard Blumenthal when when you must resort to NAME-CALLING, against, his opponent, Linda McMahon.

Instead of despiration, show a little class, and stop degrading the quality of comments that CT NEWS JUNKIE must accept.

I’m sure you will feel better, CT Jim, if you don’t resort, to being NASTY, in your comments.
You would not like to be addressed as: “CT Jim, Steroid King!”

Please be a gentleman, with your inspired rhetoric.  Thank you Have a good day!

posted by: venturen | September 6, 2010  10:26am

Wow that is great news. Pretty much anyone that gets Obama to come to their state LOSES! Look the governor race in NJ where Obama went numerous times and the democrats who enjoy a huge margin lost BIG. Can we sign up Obama for a couple trips to ensure that Blumy is run out of town!

posted by: aedoyle | September 6, 2010  11:51am

Well it’s true that when BO went to MA.VA.and NJ. all the people he went to support lost. I guess Dick “Rambo” Blumenthal (the Vietnam vet NOT)  doesn’t want to spend any of his own $millions when he can get the faithful to donate. I’m sure the Union reps will be first in line to hand over their (Well not their money but the union members) money.

posted by: CT Jim | September 6, 2010  6:20pm

Hawky,
You my friend have been the one throwing bombs with your need to use the presidents full name.
which we know why you guys do that.
So please don’t expect me to lighten up that will not happen in this case.
I wouldn’t want my kids around a drug dealer so why would I want to send her to Washington.
As for CT Jim the steroid king. LMAO!!!
I could probably use some to tone up the mid section.
Do you think Linda could hook me up.

Doley I said state and local taxes that is all state and local taxes including sin taxes , sales taxes property taxes etc.
You will find my post to be very accurate
As for your assumption that your taxes would be lower without paying state workers health care and other bennies, one has to wonder what YOU do for a living and maybe if your employer stopped paying for your families health care and your vaction time and that stupid match he gives you on that 401ki of yours we the taxpayer can get a better price on what ever your company produces, wheter it be insurance or cars or health care services. or what have you.
So next time you want some one to take a cut Doley why dont you start with YOURSELF first.
Are you ready to do that???
Didn’t think so.
As for the $1 million that Dodd has or you say he has I really don’t care what he spends it on.

posted by: aedoyle | September 7, 2010  8:29am

To CT JIM. Are you refering to me when you say Doley? Where did you get that name as it’s kind of cute. What I do or don’t do has nothing to do with paying taxes or for you to contribute to my wages as I have to do for all the over paid PUBLIC SERVANTS.Please list the site so I can verify the data you quote as I have trouble coming up with the %s you quote.

posted by: CT Jim | September 7, 2010  9:01am

Yep i believe he is an honest man that served his country during the Viet-nam era.
I also believe he is a man that makes mistakes and admitts to them when he does.
I also believe there is not a perfect person presently living on this earth.
But if I had to choose between Dick blumenthal with his faults or Linda with the steroids, sexism and deaths attributed to her businesses.
The answer is easy.
Go Dick GO!

The more you repeatedly BAD MOUTH Linda McMahon, incites more voters to vote for Linda McMahon, on Nov. 2.

Besides, voters will not vote for Richard Blumenthal, because Barack Obama, is coming to Connecticut, to do a Fairfield County fundraiser, for Blumenthal, as voters know that Obama wants him as a
replacement for many Congressional Democrats, who will be voted out of office, on Nov. 2.

Keep badmouthing Linda McMahon, as you are personally creating votes for her.

Readers of CT NEWS JUNKIE are not impressed by the “slam dunk” tirades, that are your trade-mark, CT Jim!

I have from time to time gotten a little off the reservation but in this instance I haven’t.
Basically what your saying is don’t vote cause Hawky knows best. Right?
Your defense of someone who pushes dope for dollars utterly amazes me.
And if you think that me along with thousands of others across the state telling people exactly what Vince and Linda do to make a buck is going to make them vote for her then you sir need to get some treatment right away.

posted by: venturen | September 7, 2010  10:45pm

CT Jim You say Blumi is honest and you trust him…can you clear up how he said “We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam,” Blumenthal told a group of veterans and senior citizens in Norwalk in March 2008.

Do regularly mention being in vietnam when you weren’t. Misspoke for a Harvard Grad is lying for the rest of us. Kind like Clinton saying he didn’t have sex or Obama saying he will close Gitmo once he because president. They know it is lying and independent thinkers know they are lying…just doormats like you make excuses!

posted by: CT Jim | September 8, 2010  5:29am

Yep he has made a mistake or 2 along the way and has admitted them.
Does that take away his services to our country??
Did he say their were weapons of mass destruction in VN when he was there???
Did he say he showed up for the Alabama ANG??
Or denies that people working for him are dying because of steroid and drug abuse that he perpetrated??
Richard Blumenthal has not caused one life to be shortened by his actions.
The Same can be said of President Obama.
Unfortunatly Bush and Linda can’t say that.
The 5,000 american soldiers that died in vane in Iraq along with 100’s of thousand innocent civilians (mostly women and children) Can be attributed to one Republican President.
And as much as Richard can’t run from his past neither can McMahon.
The deaths are real, the lives that Linda and Vince destroyed were real.
So yea I’ll be fine with Richards Blunders because as I said before no one on this earth is perfect.
Not you nor me.
But drawing the line over death sounds like a good one.

To CTjim:
Why are you talking about Pres. Bush when he isn’t running for anything or do you prescribe to the “Bush is to blame for everything” theory? Does BO have any responsibilty for the troops/CIA being killed within the last 12 months? Does Rambo Blumie have anything to do with the loss of jobs in CT? Do you mean getting in the reserves and sitting at a desk in Wash. DC so he would not have to go to Vietnam and fight like the real Marines were doing? Do you count this as serving the country or serving himself? What about the Marines who were killed because he didn’t do his duty and bugged out of going to fight the VC?

posted by: CT Jim | September 8, 2010  9:03am

Gee Doyley,
you dont want me to go back a few short years here but then you want to go back 40 years to attack mr. Blumenthal.
So is your assertion that EVERYBODY that signed up for the reserves and National guard during the Viet Nam era was not really serving their country but serving themselves???
Really???
These people should be held out of a crowd at local VFW’s and American legions and called cowards that sat behind a desk while REAL americans were fighting this war????
Do you read what you post?
Didn’t your boy Bush get in the reserves too.
The only difference being Dick actually had to show up. (must not have been of the same pedigree)
What branch did Linda serve in???
Oh right that would be the corporate branch.

Blumenthal was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Jane and Martin A.  Blumenthal president of a commodities trading firm. Blumenthal graduated from Harvard College.
CT Jim this sounds like a pretty privileged guy to me. Father president of commodities trading firm and went to Harvard…please! Is Blumi running against Bush? Remember the story is about BO our current president spending us into oblivion and Blumi…what does Bush have to do with it. Have you ever voted anything other than the Demo party line?

CT Jim, There is plenty of blame to go around as I am sure you are aware. the ground work for the terrorist was laid under your hero Clinton who decimated the intelligence ranks to expose the country to attacks and mistakes. You want me to dig up the harm he did to the CIA or do you read the papers? I am sure you will go on how Bush within a couple months was to undo all the damage Clinton did to our Intell guys and some obscure warning was suppose to allow Bush to single-handedly prevent 9/11. I am sure you think Saddam slaughtering people for decades is a great thing(Stalin was a big liberal hero too)...I personally stand-up for getting rid of mad men. You liberals just love Castro, Chavez, Saddam, etc. The real bad people are the business owners in your mind…unless of course they are minority! Well you made it clear the type of guys you like…lets see if regular Americans agree with you on voting day. We can meet back here to gloat about what a hero Blumi is, with all his grand standing as AG while many many crime and waste occurs. Maybe he could get on America’s Most Talented. What would you say are his big accomplishments?

Whats up with that??
Does time travel differently on Venturen.

Did you have more than 10 bbers for dinnner? Just how do yuo
blame Bush for 9/11? Even the real Loony left doesn’t come up with that.
Or did Dick C sneak up to NYC and plant bombs and the planes were only on a big video screen. Typical of you when you have no answers to legit questions you go on the attack with pure BS. Why don’t you reread real history instead of whatever you are reading. Notice during the reast of the Bush years we were never attacked? Do you give him credit for that?

posted by: venturen | September 9, 2010  8:01pm

Jimmy, Did you notice that I didn’t blame Obama for the mess…if you are going judge me try to do it accurately.  I think he is clueless twit(never held a job outside of Chicago handout) maybe, but Bush and congress, remember they make and pass the budget and people like Barney and Dodd set the stage for the economic meltdown. Do you think democrats screwup or they only do right? Mr Frank was a well known protector of Freddie Mac a massive cause for the current housing bubble(they own 80% of mortgages). Frank is on record saying everything at freddie mac was just grand…year after year. I am sure 6 months into a job like the presidency you would master everything and no one in the US government would screwup! Remember Clinton left the aftermath of the dotcom bubble for Bush, does your warped world acknowledge this…or was it Bush fault the economy plummeted months before he got into office? Does your history include fact or just opinion? It is nice and simple for people like you to rail against one person like Bush for all the worlds ills, but there are plenty of accessories like congress who make the rules and the budgets. I am man enough to tell you both republican democratic congress are screwing up and people like Blumenthal who have never created a job or balanced a budget should not be allow to screw it up more! I suspect I am giving you too much credit if you can’t understand dismantling the CIA had nothing to do with 9/11. My original point is Obama is tainting anyone associated with him and they will burn. Please give me the talk about how spending $12 trillion dollars is going to turn america around while hugely increasing it commitments with national healthcare and stimulus after stimulus. I suppose you run up your credit card to $100,000 and think it is great you have all new stuff. You can’t spend yourself out of recovery! Wake up, you are being bankrupted by congress and Obama.

posted by: CT Jim | September 10, 2010  12:45pm

Venturen the Vulcan,
So let me get this straight Barney Frank and Chris Dodd chair a committee for all of 16 months before the market crashed and it’s their fault and Bill Clinton leaves office 10 years ago with a projected $5 trillion dollar surplus and the Dow at 11,000, and everything that happened from 2001-2009 was his fault except for that 16 month span where it was Barney and Chris’ fault??

jim, Obviously you have very little knowledge as to how congress and the government work (or pretty much anything) . Just because you chair a committee doesn’t mean you dictate the laws. Frank and Dodd protected the freddie and fannie game, can you admit this? Want me to send you the video? Do you suggest the GOP protected F&F? Greenspan, Treasury Sec Snow are all on record trying to shut it down where as Frank is documented regularly protecting F&F. The ground work for the F&F preceed these guys and the increases in their manadate go back to carter with regular increases along the way. Do you believe the GOP wanted to increase F&F? Or is your history different…maybe Bush protected F&F? What is your altered reality? The GOP would have shut it down, but alas unlike the whack-nuts running the show now, they didn’t have a filibuster proof majority to just pass crazy laws. As for Clinton you believe the economy was booming in 2000. Can you please point me to where you get your facts…I am having a problem understanding what world you live in. So you are proud of the republican congress that balanced budget for Clinton, you are aware that congress is involved with budget…right? Or in your world the president makes and passes the budget? I clearly point out two FACTS and you just rant away. So will Blummi win with all his union backing or are people fed up with too much government. Tell me Mr Know It All. Or are you too busy watching Star Trek reruns?
