Texas Now Among States Looking To Internet Taxes To Close Budget Gaps | The AP

ANALYSIS | Taxed States Seek to Tax Amazon Sales

The debate over the “Amazon Tax” continued this week with the company announcing, as many expected, the cancellation of Connecticut-based affiliate marketing contracts. The changes impact website operators who are linking to Amazon and receiving a commission based on the sales those links generate.

Amazon Terminates Connecticut Affiliates

Online retailer Amazon.com today informed its Connecticut affiliates that it is terminating their relationship, effective immediately.  The contract terminations are the result of a new law that requires online retailers to collect tax from sales referred by Connecticut websites.
