Burbank Slams Murphy For Connection With Former Gov.

Green Party candidate Harold Burbank III, who is challenging incumbent Democrat Chris Murphy for the state’s 5th District congressional seat, slammed Murphy for taking campaign contributions from former Gov. John Rowland, who spent time in federal prison on corruption charges.

Burbank, a civil rights attorney and former state assistant attorney general, said he is a staunch critic of Rowland not only for his indictment on the corruption charge, but also for his “baseless attacks on state workers.”

Truely a surreal charge.
Chris Murphy was a strong advocate for both state workers in the 2003 budget year with layoffs (and in general during his career in the State House & Senate) and Waterbury municipal employees - trying to reverse the Bailout legislation which overturned collective bargaining - I should know I was standing with Chris and these workers. I don't recall Mr. Burbank at any of the state employee rallys against Rowland or any comments from him against Rowland at that time WHEN it would count for something.

Burbank - like his party in general in CT- is vainly seeking relevancy.
Burbank wants Murphy to be as irrelevant nationally as Dennis Kucinich? Yup, THAT'S a smart strategy. I greatly respect Chris Murphy's judgement. He doesn't go for cheap shots or futile gestures that may make you feel good, but marginalize one's effectiveness in the future.
