For the first time, the Green Party has submitted enough signatures to qualify candidates in each of Connecticut’s five Congressional races.
“This is the largest filing in Connecticut’s history for a ‘third party’ and Greens would like to thank dozens and dozens of people who volunteered in the heat of the summer.” Mike DeRosa, Green Party Co-Chair, said in a press release.
Stephen Fournier, will challenge incumbent John B. Larson in the First Congressional District, G. Scott Deshefy will challenge incumbent Joe Courtney in the Second Congressional District, Ralph Ferrucci will challenge incumbent Rosa DeLauro in the Third Congressional District, Richard Duffee will challenge incumbent Chris Shays in the Fourth Congressional District, and Harold Burbank will challenge incumbent Chris Murphy in the Fifth Congressional District. Each of the races also have a major party candidate challenging the incumbent.

This is great news. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come regarding local and national politics. God knows the two major parties don't reflect what many people want and they're too entrenched in Washington money and power to fight for any real change.
