Hartford Police arrested, Gilbert Soto, 48, in connection with Sunday’s burglary of U.S. Senator Christopher J. Dodd’s Lewis Street office.
Police said they don’t believe the incident was political in nature.
Police said Soto was captured on video surveillance during the burglary, which made it easy for them to recognize him when he returned to the scene of the crime Monday.
According to a press release, detectives recognized Soto while patrolling the area of Gold and Lewis Streets Monday. Soto was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary, larceny, and criminal mischief. He is being held on a $15,000 bond.
Police said they recovered a television and computer taken during the burglary.
