O’Connor Won’t Seek Republican Nomination

Kevin O’Connor, a former U.S. attorney and former associate U.S. attorney general, told Dennis House during the taping of “Face the State” on Thursday that he will not run for governor.

O’Connor had been mentioned as a possible Republican contender when Gov. M. Jodi Rell announced earlier this month that she would not seek another term.

O’Connor said he considered it, but is happy right now spending time at home in Connecticut with his family. However, O’Connor didn’t rule out a run for elected office in the future, just not in 2010.

O’Connor is currently a partner at the law firm of Bracewell and Guiliani.
