In recognition of “Problem Gambling Awareness Week,” the Connecticut Lottery Corporation, lawmakers, and advocates of responsible gaming are warning the public about the dark side of gambling.
The Connecticut Lottery Corporation will be releasing two public service announcements that address the danger of gambling addiction. There also is a recent report about youth gambling available.
State Sen. Andrea Stillman, D-Waterford, said the recent report surveyed 4,500 high school students and found 90 percent admitted to gambling in the previous year. She said the report also found almost 32 percent gambled before the age of 8. “This report is very sobering for all of us,” she said.
Rep. Stephen Dargan, D-West Haven, said with two Native American casinos and a lottery corporation that pour millions of dollars into the state’s coffers, “we have to be careful about mixed-messages.” He said the state appreciates the revenue gaming brings into the state, but “we often forget to talk about the social ills of gaming.”

I love it. They started this idiotic lottery and now they have to warn all the idiots out there not blow their paychecks on quick picks.
In case anyone forgot it was the federal government that told us all how great "transfats" were going to be. Thanks CDC.
They've also told us fluoride in the water is okay and mercury in the vaccines can actually be good for us.
Why does anyone continue to trust them?
