Gay Rights Activists in CT Rally for CA

Despite living in a state where gay marriage was just legalized by the Supreme Court, dozens of activists gathered on the steps of Hartford City Hall Saturday to show their solidarity for their brothers and sisters in California, where voters approved Proposition 8 and banned gay marriage.

As the microphone got passed around, many took the opportunity to share with the crowd the reasons why they support marriage equality, while others reflected on what Connecticut’s victory means for the future of the movement.

See our photo essay below or click here to read about New Haven’s rally.

Kudos to CT.

And as a justice of the peace I look forward to officiating at the marriages of same-sex couples now too.

Cheers,
