Speaker of the House James Amann, D-Milford, will receive another endorsement in his 2010 gubernatorial bid Monday.

Expected to open the veto session of the legislature at 10 a.m. in Hartford Monday, Amann will be endorsed by a coalition of Connecticut lobstermen at 11 a.m. in Guilford.

In a press release, the lobstermen said they are backing Amann because of his long time support of the shoreline fishing industries and sponsorship of the state’s highly successful lobster restoration ‘V-notch’ program.

It’s unclear if Amann will be in Guilford to accept the endorsement.

Since announcing he was exploring a run for office, Amann has received endorsements from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 24, the Connecticut Motorcycle Riders Association, the International Association of Iron Workers Local 15, the New Haven County Marshals Association, the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 40 and the Milford Chamber of Commerce.

In April Amann, a state legislator for 18 years, announced that he will not seek re-election to the legislature this November in order to focus on a run for the governor’s office.

Will someone please ask Liebercrat Jim Amann who he supports for President, and if he regrets his 2006 support for Joe Lieberman ('Rat-CT).

My worry is that he's going to come out as one of Lieberman's "Citizens for McCain"...
