No Budget Agreement On Horizon With 24-Hours Left

Gov. M. Jodi Rell said Monday that she has an executive order ready to go in case there’s no budget agreement by Tuesday, the last day of the fiscal year.

The governor and legislative leaders met Tuesday, but neither side was talking. Both sides have been at odds for several months over how to deal with a two-year estimated deficit that could be as much as $8.8 billion.

“We’re certainly meeting and it would be our goal obviously to have a budget agreement in place before the end of the fiscal year, but on a personal note I think it’s more important that we get it right rather than simply making it happen,” Rell said Monday.

Legislative leaders were asked for comment Monday, but failed to provide any.

Here we go again .You have dumb and dumber running our state.First off the Dems put together a budget they knew the Gov wasn't going to sign. But at this very moment no word on a veto either,so where does that leave us ???
I would love to be a fly on the wall at the budget meetings between the Dems and Rell, talk about the lights are on but no ones home.

in the Connecticut area you have all the Ivy League institutions that graduate all these great intellectuals year after year with their fancy initials at the end of the name. these are the people who have put this state and the country into economic collapse! they all seem to have one personal agenda, to say or do anything that puts them on top while pretending it's good for the economy. the situation will never get better as long as term limits are not in place and lobbyists control our political base!
