President Donald Trump’s chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow was released from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center this week after suffering a mild heart attack on Monday.

U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro joined Democratic legislators this week in condemning the Trump administration’s ghastly, cruel, and inhumane policy of separating children from their undocumented migrant families. She called it “child abuse.”

But for just about everyone I know, the reaction has been to sigh, shake their heads, and let it pass through them. After all, it’s only one of many soul-destroying, terrifying, and deeply unjust things to happen this week.

Social Security Fix Divides Congress

The Board of Trustees for the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds released their annual reports this week once again reminding Congress that time is running out on maintaining Social Security as we know it. Without action, the trust funds will deplete forcing a 21 percent across the board cut to beneficiaries in 2034.
