2011: Ben Hogan, Paul Rogers, Waterbury Police Officer George Tirado, Joe Dadonna, and Richard Chance open their shop with an initial investment of about $100,000.

Because they were not paying fees and taxes similar to those levied upon major cigarette manufacturers’ products, the shop was banking a considerable profit per carton. They expanded their operating hours, hired staff, and saw the potential for a net annual profit of hundreds of thousands of dollars over their initial investment. Similar shops around the state also invested in the same RYO machines.

Provided as evidence by federal prosecutors in the trial of Robert Braddock Jr.
