The team behind a recent rebranding of the Tweed New Haven airport hopes frequent travelers will add “HVN” to their search queries when planning upcoming trips.

The website, developed by New Haven firm Digital Surgeons,  allows visitors to book flights originating from New Haven on the US Airways reservation system.  US Airways operates several flights per day from Tweed to Philadelphia.

The airport says business is beginning to pick up, with an 11% increase in passengers in 2011 over 2010. Last year also marked the third consecutive year of growth for the small airport.

“In addition to the new website and marketing tools we intend to continue working with airline, state, local and federal officials to underscore that potential and seek additional service and destinations,” said Tim Larson, Executive Director Tweed New Haven Regional Airport in a news release announcing the new website.

The website is located at www.flytweed.com. Mobile apps for iOS and Android devices can be found on each platform’s application store.
